Clare Luce Abbey · 2007 · Cabernet Sauvignon
We are delighted to release the 2007 Clare Luce Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon to you for early enjoyment and mid-term cellaring. One of the strongest recent vintages for Bordeaux varietals for the Napa Valley, Robert Parker states “(2007’s)… are seamless with wonderful sweetness… revealing impressive concentration, texture, and length.”
The Clare Luce Abbey Estate mountainside vineyard includes 7 acres planted to cabernet sauvignon clone 7 on 110R rootstock. Trelising is Guyot simple single for cluster profiling and low yield farming.
The 2007 Clare Luce Abbey jumps from the glass with explosive aromatics of red fruits and baking spices (cardamom) leading to stunning accents of fennel bulb and peppered steak. The palate is highlighted by fleshy red plum and an enticing acid back-bone. Firm tannins lift flavors of shaved wood and mocha.
A lovely balance of acid and tannins will allow this wine to age 5 to 8 years.
